Dr. Zahoor Khan Joins CAREC Institute as Third Visiting Fellow under 2025 Program
Dr. Zahoor Khan, Associate Professor of Development Economics at the Institute of Management Sciences in Peshawar, Pakistan, has joined the CAREC Institute (CI) as the third Visiting Fellow under the 2025 Visiting Fellows Program (VFP).
On September 23, CI hosted a VFP Talk featuring Dr. Khan, where he shared his ongoing research titled “The Role of Digital Financial Services in Promoting Inclusive Growth in CAREC Countries.” The VFP Talk serves as an interactive platform for visiting fellows to present their research, receive constructive feedback, and foster mutual learning with CI research specialists.
In line with his research theme, Dr. Khan highlighted the disparities in digital financial services (DFS) and the digital divide faced by CAREC countries. He noted that, although some studies have examined DFS and financial inclusion in the region, there remains a significant gap in understanding how DFS and its various components contribute to inclusive growth.
During his fellowship, Dr. Khan will be supervised by Dr. Asif Razzaq, Senior Research Specialist at CI Research Division. The CAREC Institute will continue to promote regional cooperation and knowledge exchange.
