CAREC Institute Strengthens Partnerships at Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2025

The CAREC Institute participated as the official knowledge partner at the Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2025 (TIF 2025), held on 18–19 September in Awaza, Turkmenistan. The forum gathered over 800 participants from more than 40 countries to discuss regional investment, infrastructure, resilience, and digital and green transformation, drawing strong international interest.

Director Charymuhammet Shallyyev moderated the session “Strengthening the Institutional Foundations of Trade: Access into New Trade Markets” and joined a panel on “Climate Change and Resilient Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future”. Deputy Director Dr. Li Kouqing contributed as a panelist in the session “Digital and Green Transformations in the Interest of Sustainable Development”, sharing insights alongside senior officials, international experts, and business sector representatives. Throughout the forum, they also engaged with a wide range of participants, raising the Institute’s profile and fostering new connections.

On the sidelines of the forum, CI leadership met with Mr. Mammetguly Astanagulov, Turkmenistan’s Minister of Finance and Economy and National Focal Point for the CAREC Program, to share updates on the Institute’s recent work and invite him to the upcoming Tianshan Forum.

On 20 September, the CAREC Institute strengthened its academic ties by signing a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Turkmen State Institute of Finance. The signing ceremony was attended by the rectors of the two institutions, Prof. Aknabat Atabayeva and Prof. Bayram Tanryberdiyev, as well as Ms. Gulnabat Gurdova, Head of the International Division at Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Education. The MoU reflects all parties’ commitment to further academic collaboration.

Through its active participation in TIF 2025 and the establishment of new academic partnerships, the CAREC Institute continues to advance regional cooperation and sustainable development.
