CAREC Institute Deputy Director Two Delivers Talk at TEDxAstana 2025

On September 13, CAREC Institute Deputy Director Two Dr. Kuat Akizhanov delivered a talk in TEDxAstana 2025 titled “Why Economic Democracy Means Freedom”. He examined the causes of inequality and proposed practical approaches to expand opportunities and economic participation for all citizens.

In line with TED’s mission of sharing “ideas worth spreading,” Dr. Akizhanov discussed the role of inclusive institutions, equitable opportunities, and progressive reforms in supporting both prosperity and freedom. He presented evidence-based strategies for promoting productivity, emancipation, and balanced development across Kazakhstan and the broader Eurasian region.

“Economic democracy is not an abstract slogan. It is the operating system that turns growth into genuine freedom,” Dr. Akizhanov stated.
