The CAREC Institute Annual Report 2019 provides overview of the Institute’s capacity building, research, and advocacy work in 2019, and offers outlook on year 2020.

The economic brief discussed the current heightened global uncertainty which goes along with the threat of less demand for CAREC export goods, and weaker GDP growth and tax revenues. Especially, oil and gas exporters might suffer from lower commodity prices and feel pressure on the exchange rates.

Under the CAREC Think Tanks Network (CTTN), the CAREC Institute has launched the Research Grants Program in May 2019 to support scholars and researchers from members of the CTTN to produce targeted knowledge products which would add to the body of knowledge on regional cooperation in CAREC.
