The CAREC Institute, in collaboration with the Shanghai National Accounting Institute and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), will host the workshop titled Navigating Overseas Markets: Business Opportunities in Central Asia – Uzbekistan in Shanghai, the People’s Republic of China, from 25 to 27 May 2026. This is the first event of the “Navigating Overseas Markets: Business Opportunities in Central Asia” Workshop Series. The workshop aims to help Chinese enterprises enhance operational resilience, including mitigating legal and policy risks, strengthening cross-cultural communication, accelerating local adaptation, and responding to evolving geopolitical and economic dynamics.
ADB will contribute a dedicated session highlighting private sector opportunities under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program and the CAREC Climate and Sustainability Project Preparatory Fund (CSPPF), and featuring firsthand guidance from ADB specialists on procurement rules, priority sectors, and emerging business opportunities.
Uzbekistan government officials and relevant scholars will provide insights into the country’s policies, regulatory frameworks, and business practices.
The workshop will accommodate approximately 60 participants who are exploring investment opportunities in Uzbekistan. Participants will be selected by the organizers based on a set of qualifying criteria.
