CAREC Water Policy Dialogue IV: Bridging the Financial Governance Gap in Central Asia's Water Sector

29 Mar 2024

The CAREC Institute is announcing the upcoming Fourth CAREC Water Policy Dialogue, focusing on “Analyzing the Financial Governance Gap of Water Sector in Central Asia: From Planning to Effective Implementation.” This virtual event will take place on March 29, 2024, from 16:00 to 18:00 (Beijing time, GMT + 8).

Central Asia faces significant challenges in managing its water resources, with issues ranging from coordinated investment planning to limited private sector involvement. The dialogue aims to address these challenges by discussing practical implications, water financing opportunities, and best practices for policy recommendations in the region.

Distinguished panelists, including experts from the Asian Development Bank, the Eurasian Development Bank, the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, and HYDROC consulting company will share their insights and experiences during the event.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with leading water sector experts and contribute to the development of comprehensive solutions for Central Asia’s water challenges. Following the webinar, country-specific workshops will be conducted to present action plans to each participating country.
