The 13th ministerial meeting of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) announced that the CAREC Institute would be headquartered in Urumqi, China.
Implemented by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the six-day program brought together senior government officials from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
A Regional Economic Cooperation Institute was offered to be established in Central Asia to strengthen activities of the CAREC program and conduct necessary research.
