Turkish Ambassador to China Visits CAREC Institute

Selçuk Ünal, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to China, led a delegation to visit the CAREC Institute (CI) in Urumqi. Charymuhammet Shallyyev, Director of CI, and Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director One of CI, received the delegation and held bilateral talks.

During the meeting, Director Shallyyev briefed the delegation on CI’s overall profile and operational priorities. Dr. Li further elaborated on CI’s work to improve regional connectivity and sustainable development, highlighting its commitment to advancing knowledge creation, dissemination, and application.

Ambassador Ünal highlighted Türkiye’s strategic role as a vital bridge connecting the East and the West. He shared updates on Türkiye’s cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and the Middle Corridor, its bilateral trade ties with China, and its cooperation with other CAREC member countries. He also expressed his willingness to facilitate stronger cooperation and joint activities between Turkish research institutions and CI.
