Dr. Yao Yixin Delivered a Lecture at Tsinghua University

Dr. Yao Yixin, Senior Research Specialist at the CAREC Institute, was invited by the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University to deliver a thematic lecture titled “Global Economic Governance and Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation” on October 21, 2025. The event provided an opportunity for academic exchange and explored potential avenues for collaboration between the CAREC Institute and leading universities.

Dr. Yao Yixin presented an informative report to the faculty and students. Through case studies, she outlined the historical context and current status of the global economic governance system, analyzing present challenges and opportunities. The lecture focused on the CAREC Program, highlighting its role in promoting sustainable infrastructure connectivity, trade and trade facilitation, and economic policy coordination in the region. The event attracted participation from both Chinese and international faculty and students, who actively engaged in discussions on global economic governance and regional cooperation.

Prior to the lecture, Dr. Yao met with senior officials and professors from Peking University’s School of Economics, Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management, and the Center for Global Competence Development. The meeting explored potential institutional cooperation in talent development and scholar exchange. The participants expressed willingness to establish long-term partnerships and discussed possible initiatives, such as designating the CAREC Institute as an internship base for doctoral students and implementing visiting scholar exchanges.
