CAREC Institute Director Visits the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Finance

Recently, Mr. Charymuhammet Shallyyev, Director of the CAREC Institute (CI), led a delegation to visit the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation, Ministry of Finance (MoF) of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). During the visit, Director Shallyyev held discussions with Deputy Director General Yao Licheng, focusing on CI’s development strategy, regional economic cooperation in Central Asia, and the Institute’s role as a regional think tank.

Director Shallyyev elaborated on the priorities of CI’s 2026-2030 Strategy and its implementation progress. He emphasized that CI’s long-term development has been strongly supported by the PRC as the host country and the government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as the host region over the past decade, and extended sincere gratitude to the Chinese government for the consistent support and assistance.

Deputy Director General Yao Licheng reaffirmed the PRC’s support for the development of the CI, and expected the Institute to fully implement its new development strategy, further advance flagship research projects and leadership training initiative, continue to successfully host the Tianshan Forum for Central Asia Economic Cooperation, and accelerate its growth into a more influential regional think tank.

As a knowledge support arm for the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation, the CAREC Institute will continue to promote regional cooperation through research, training, and policy dialogue.
