CAREC Institute Deputy Director Li Kouqing Meets with AIIB Vice President

On 15 June 2026, Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director One, met with Mr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey, Vice President for Investment Solutions at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), at the CAREC Institute.

Dr. Li briefed Mr. Pandey on the CAREC Institute’s recent progress and key initiatives. He proposed strengthening cooperation between the two sides in areas such as the Tianshan Forum, flagship research, research conferences, financial sector development in Central Asia, and other knowledge-sharing activities. Dr. Ghulam Samad, Chief of the Research Division, also shared his views on regional connectivity and potential avenues for joint work.

Mr. Pandey expressed AIIB’s willingness to further enhance cooperation with the CAREC Institute in knowledge generation and sharing. He also introduced AIIB’s recent work on digital infrastructure development.

The exchange enhanced mutual understanding and created favorable conditions for future collaborative engagement.
