CAREC Institute Delegation Visits Zhejiang University

A delegation from the CAREC Institute, led by Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director One of the Institute, visited Zhejiang University from 4 to 5 March 2026. During the visit, the delegation met with Mr. Gu Zhen, Assistant President of Zhejiang University, and Mr. Gong Sen, Director of the Center for International Studies on Development and Governance of Zhejiang at Zhejiang University, with a focus on potential cooperation and academic exchanges.

During the meetings, Dr. Li noted the importance of empowering CAREC member countries to learn from each other’s experiences in promoting shared economic growth. He pointed out that Zhejiang University has strong expertise in research and education, particularly in key areas such as digitalization and economics. Strengthening cooperation between the two organizations would be mutually beneficial for advancing academic progress and regional development.

Representatives from Zhejiang University introduced their practices and experience in promoting startups and innovation through the effective integration of education and industry. They also shared recent research and capacity-building initiatives in fields including digitalization and medicine.

Following the discussions, both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration through joint capacity-building programs and knowledge-sharing activities, and plan to implement an internship program this year.
