CAREC Institute Delegation Visits New Development Bank Headquarters

On 2 March 2026, Dr. Li Kouqing, Deputy Director One of the CAREC Institute, led a delegation to meet with Mr. Zhou Qiangwu, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of the New Development Bank (NDB), at the Bank’s headquarters in Shanghai.

The discussions focused on national and regional priorities for investment and knowledge services in areas such as infrastructure, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development, with the aim of supporting economic growth and cooperation among developing countries.

Both sides explored practical ways to further strengthen collaboration between the two multilateral institutions. Potential areas of cooperation include flagship research initiatives, capacity-building programs, knowledge-sharing activities, and participation in major events such as the CAREC Institute’s Tianshan Forum for Central Asia Economic Cooperation and the NDB Annual Meeting.

The meeting also included an exchange of experiences on institutional development, including human resources management and administrative practices.
