CAREC Institute Capacity Building Grant Supports Regional Seminar on AI for Inclusive Education in Kazakhstan

24 Oct 2025

From 21 to 24 October, the CAREC Institute and South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after Ozbekali Zhanibekov hosted an international seminar-conference in Kazakhstan under the theme “Harnessing Artificial Intelligence for Inclusive Education: A Scalable Model for the CAREC Region.” The event focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) can help make education more accessible and effective for students with special educational needs across the CAREC region.

Supported by the CAREC Institute’s Capacity Building Grant Program, the seminar brought together policymakers, educators, EdTech developers, and students from Kazakhstan and other CAREC member countries. Participants discussed practical ways to apply AI in support of inclusive learning, exchanged experiences, and explored strategies to strengthen digital education in line with CAREC Digital Strategy 2030.

The seminar also provided an opportunity to showcase innovative AI tools and share case studies addressing diverse educational needs. These exchanges contributed to the initial development of a regional roadmap for integrating AI into inclusive education systems. The outcomes of the event are expected to support ongoing efforts in the region to promote accessible and adaptable education for all.

The CAREC Institute will continue to facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building among member countries to help ensure that every learner has access to quality education.
