Revolutionizing Education in the CAREC Region: Launch of the Blended Learning Report

Jun 2025; CAREC Institute, IsDB, CAREC Institute

The CAREC Institute, in collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), announces the publication of its latest report, Blended Learning through Flipped Classrooms in the CAREC Region: Designing a Data-Driven Flipped Classroom Program. This report presents a strategic framework aimed at improving educational outcomes throughout the CAREC region by integrating innovative pedagogical approaches and modern technology.

The report examines the role of video lectures (VLs) as a key component of the flipped classroom model. It recommends structuring content into concise, engaging segments, with research suggesting that optimal VL length ranges from six to fifteen minutes to maximize student engagement and understanding. The report also emphasizes the significance of incorporating local languages into educational resources, which can strengthen student engagement and enhance the overall learning process.

Based on these findings, the CAREC Institute and IsDB propose a phased adoption of the flipped classroom model. Initial implementation is recommended in selected subjects, with gradual expansion to a broader curriculum. This approach is intended to support student motivation and retention while fostering a more inclusive and culturally responsive educational environment

The report serves as a valuable resource for educators and policymakers working to advance educational practices in the CAREC region. Through ongoing collaboration with stakeholders, the CAREC Institute and IsDB remain committed to supporting the evolution of teaching and learning methods, ensuring that education systems are equipped to address the challenges of the 21st century and prepare future generations for success.
