CAREC Transport Corridor I (Zhambyl Oblast Section) [Western Europe-Western People's Republic of China International Transit Corridor] Investment Program - Project 1
Summary:
Project 1 of this investment program covers (i) construction and reconstruction of about 125 kilometers (km) of the Project Road (sections of the CAREC Transport Corridor 1 between Taraz and Korday from km 404 to km 483 and from km 214 to km 260 in Zhambyl Oblast); and (ii) the road operation and maintenance component. The program aims to improve the 2,815 km Western Europe-Western China Transport Corridor from Khorgos at the border with the People's Republic of China, through Almaty and Shymkent, to the western border with the Russian Federation.
