Kazakhstan Moinak Electricity Transmission Project
Summary:The project aims to increase and improve the supply of electricity to business enterprises and households in southern Kazakhstan in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner. The project's three components are (i) construction of 220-kilovolt, single-circuit overhead transmission lines from Moinak Hydroelectric Power Plant to Shelek Substation; (ii) modernization of the substation; and (iii) provision of consulting and technical services.
