Exposure to international best practice and sharing regional knowledge will build capacity for implementing complex regional projects.

Supporting Professional Development

The CAREC Institute's Professional Development and Training Program seeks to provide senior and mid-level government officials from CAREC participating countries with the skills and knowledge required to more efficiently identify, develop, and implement regional initiatives. This objective is pursued through two streams:

• A Leadership Development Initiative designed to meet the identified needs of senior officials for courses in executive leadership practice, public sector management and finance, strategic planning, and negotiation and communication.
• Training and knowledge-sharing programs of the CAREC sector committees for transport, energy, trade facilitation, and trade policy, and a series of issue-focused, knowledge-sharing events to provide specialized skills and technical knowledge for mid-level officials.
