CAREC Institute Foundation Study: Transport and Trade Facilitation

The Study provides a detailed picture of project activities since 2000 and projects planned (investment, technical assistance, other) by multilateral, bilateral, and other development agencies active in the CAREC region.

The study has three main purposes:

  • Establish a database of planned project activities from 2000 and present it in an easily accessible manner for the information of all interested parties.
  • Present a preliminary analysis of the data to identify gaps and areas of potential overlap in funding agency plans to help identify future priorities and opportunities for collaboration.
  • Identify broad management and other issues that may contribute to efforts to increase the efficiency of development activities in the region for the consideration of countries and funding agencies.

The Study includes an overview and five subsector reports: Roads, Railways, Maritime, Civil Aviation, and Trade Facilitation.

Each subsector report includes a description and analysis of activity in the subsector and an interactive matrix of projects providing links to project documents and reports where available. Projects have also been included in this web site's projects database.
