Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan welcome Afghanistan into Cross-Border Transport Accord
Senior officials of the Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan welcomed Afghanistan to their CBTA at a meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, on 23–25 August 2011. Delegations of all three countries agreed on the final draft of the protocol of Afghanistan's accession, which is expected to be signed at the 10th CAREC Ministerial Conference.

Mongolia builds a regional logistics facility on PRC border
The Government of Mongolia, supported by the Asian Development Bank, will build a high-tech, multimodal logistics facility in Zamyn Uud on the southeast border with the People’s Republic of China. CAREC highway linking Kyrgyz Republic and PRC gets $55 million ADB loan
A third highway project along the 539-kilometer (km) stretch of CAREC Corridor 1 from the Kyrgyz Republic’s capital Bishkek to Torugart, near the boundary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC), will receive a $55 million loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
